July 28th 10:30 - Lovely morning with humpback whales

Our vessels Kula and Cascadia left the dock at 10:30 and headed out into the calm waters of the Strait of Georgia. We found two humpback whales near Valdes Island who were filter feeding the water column. They were doing deep dives and lifting their flukes up high. One boat even got lucky and saw a breach!

We also spent some time with some very photogenic sea lions who were playing around the buoy. The were very curious and our naturalists managed to get some great photos of the huge eyes and whiskers!

Here are some of the best phots taken during the tour.
