September 23rd - Two humpback whales near the Sunshine Coast!

We had a pair of Humpbacks near the Sunshine Coast today. These two were doing a bit of traveling and some deep feeding dives. We were only able to get a fluke shot of Tempest (BCX0837), so our other whale will remain a mystery for now.

These whales will soon begin their migration south for the winter so we are very happy to be spending so much time with these incredible animals while we can.

Take a look at some of the best photos taken by marine naturalist Val Watson from the trip.
