August 20th - Whales all around!

On August 20th we joined the T36A’s, the T99’s, as well as four humpbacks in their adventures! The T36A’S were spotted travelling with the T99’s up near Porlier Pass. As we were watching the killer whales, we noticed about 4 humpbacks not far from us. We were able to identify them as MMX0047 “Bullet”, BCX0915 “Fallen Knight” and her calf. We saw another humpback in the distance who we were unable to identify.

In the afternoon, we found the T36A’s again on the west side of Bowen Island. They were travelling in a northwest direction when all the sudden they switched direction as they spotted a porpoise. After a successful hunt, they celebrated with tail-slaps, spy-hops and breaching! We spotted the T99’s hunting a porpoise as well near the T36A’s. During that hunt, guests were lucky enough to see an orca lunge out of the water with a porpoise in its mouth!
