May 18th - T86As off Thrasher Rock

Our captain James found whales for us just off Gabriola island at Thrasher rock! We departed from our Nanaimo dock and headed south to find the T86A family, including the 31 year old matriarch “Eider”, and her two offspring 18 year old “Nahanni” and 8 year old “Tyndall”.

After watching the T86A group explore the underwater reefs, we made our way to Entrance island and were lucky enough to witness hundreds of the largest sea lion on earth, the Stellers!

Check out the photos from this trip below, taken by marine naturalist Alanna Vivani.

If you’d like to join us to see some whales, give us a call or book online anytime!
