August 22 - Active Humpback Whales in the Strait of Georgia

On August 22nd our boats headed into the Strait of Georgia and found two very active humpback whales! The two whales, known as “Niagra” and “Split Fluke” are frequent summertime visitors to the Salish Sea.

While some humpback whales travel solo others, like Split Fluke, prefer to travel with other whales. It’s not known how or why these relationships are formed, but it’s certainly exciting to watch!
