September 12th - Hanging with the Humpbacks

On September 12th we ventured out looking for some whales and found a pair along the East side of Galiano Island in the morning, and another duo near Point Grey in the afternoon.

Our first 2 whales were Kappa and a mystery humpback who never fluked for us. These 2 were doing lots of deep dives and a bit of traveling as they searched for a morning meal. Our duo in the afternoon were 2 of our favourite humpbacks, Zigzag and Scuba. These 2 were also doing some deep dives but showed off a but with some cartwheels and tail waves. Do to the rain we were unable to get any photos of our afternoon whales, but take a look below at some of the beautiful photos our naturalist got in the morning.
