August 14th - Humpbacks near Porlier Pass

August 14th was a great day to view humpbacks. In the morning trip, we set out towards Porlier Pass where we saw 5 humpback whales! BCY0160 “Heather” and BCY0660 “Raptor” were travelling together heading North while BCX1251 “Orion”, BCX1210 “Slate” and her calf were travelling together North East. We got quite a bit of fluke shots from them, especially from Orion.

In the afternoon, we found Orion, Slate and her calf again near Porlier Pass. They were very active as we saw them milling, breaching and mugging one of our boats!
