May 31st - T101's and T124C in Howe Sound

On the 31st we left the dock with reports that a pod of orca, the T101’s, were found in Howe Sound, so we crossed the Strait of Georgia and headed up the emerald green waters of the sound. Once on scene with the whales the sight of the huge dorsal fins of the large males in the pod was a sight to behold! the T101 brothers are big, mature males. T101, Reef, is their mother and she was born in ~1973. That makes her 46 years old! Her sons, T101A (rush), T101B (Lagoon), and T102 (Beardslee), are 26, 22, and 35, respectively.
