June 25th - Orcas everywhere! T65B's, T101's, T65A's and More!
It was a busy day on the water on the 25th! there were so many sightings of Orcas it was hard to keep track! We followed the T65B’s and the T101’s through the Apex, Anniversary Island and Nose Point. They did a lot of traveling, some breaching and a little porpoising. Our Naturalists were able to get some beautiful close up shots of our whales today, as well as some nice shots of the Sea Lions and the Seals lazing about in the sun!
About 60 Double Crested and Pelagic Cormorants make their homes on the cliffs of Gabriola Island! these guys nest on shallow rock crevices. Our Naturalist was able to get a great shot of these adults and even some babies hiding from the sun in their nests. These sea birds actually use their wings like flippers to swim through the water and catch fish and shellfish!
Join us on a tour and see your own whales, Sea Lions and Seals! We do daily tours at 10:30 am and 3:30 pm. Call our office at 1-250-667-5177 to reserve your seats! If you don’t see a whale on your tour, your next tour is free!
