Ever wondered what it’s like to be a whale scientist?
Join our exclusive tour on May 26th with researchers from Keta Coastal Conservation and experience a day in the field while learning about the latest research on humpback whales in BC, including Keta’s projects. You’ll also learn about the day-to-day workings of a non-profit society, and the challenges and rewards of running an NGO. And of course, whales are included! At the end of the day, you’ll take home a copy of Keta’s latest humpback whale ID catalogue.
All proceeds are donated to Keta Coastal Conservation.

Location
The trip begins at our Nanaimo office at the Best Western Dorchester (#2-70 Church st, Nanaimo BC). We'll depart from the Nanaimo harbour a few steps from the office.
Duration
5-6 hours
What to Bring
Comfortable clothes and shoes. Please dress appropriately according to the weather (we always suggest at least a few layers).
Water. Feel free to fill up your own water bottle at our office!
Sunglasses and sunscreen.
Cameras and/or video equipment (we can provide plastic bags to protect your equipment from damage).
Motion sickness tablets if you are prone to seasickness. Seasick medication is not available for purchase from our office. Note: Seasickness is generally not an issue on our tours as we travel in an inland sea and are within sight of land the entire tour.
Cash if you feel inspired to tip your crew at the end of your tour.
